I feel like whenever Jared and I travel we are always delayed. Delayed 2 hours in Chicago and then we ended up leaving Newark 2 hours late for and unknown reason. Flight was supposed to leave for Oslo at 8:05 pm and did not actually take off until around 10:30 pm. However, the flight was good watched a movie almost before we took off and napped for quite some time and woke up with 2 hrs left! Bonus! So we finally arrived in Oslo around 11:00 am local time and 4:00am home time. We rented a car so we proceeded and picked up our car which ended up being a Mini Cooper! We sat in the car for about 20 minutes trying to figure out how to roll the windows down and change the navigation to English but we got her done! Jared had to brush up on his 5 speed skills and only killed it a couple times in traffic! We just followed the GPS and hoped we would end up where we were supposed to be. Everyone drives fast and is a little scary at times. The roads around town are very narrow with no lines so u better hope the other people are paying attention.

We did arrive safely at our hotel and were able to check in. We quickly took showers and decided to make our way to downtown Oslo. Since our hotel is a couple of miles away we decided to take the T-bane which is the local metro. Well sounds easy right? First we had to ask the girl at the front desk what to do and where to go. We found the kiosk to buy our train tickets and got denied
with every card we had. It gave an error message which Jared ended up taking a picture of and google translating it so we knew what it was telling us just plain processing error. Now what? We didn't have anymore cards or and Kroners (NOK). Jared was able to find an ATM and thankfully his card worked there and we were able to get some Kroners. We then proceeded to go to the store to buy me a toothbrush since I forgot mine and get change since the kiosk did not take bills. Phew the change worked like a charm and we were on our way to downtown Oslo. We walked and walked trying to find the Information centre which we finally found about 20 minutes prior to closing. We were starving so we found and Olearys pub and got a bite to eat. We then walked around some more checked out a few shops, got coffee and then headed over to the Oslo Opera house. The Opera house is right on the water and has a huge area out front where people hang out and relax. There was also some kids that I assume we're a part of a band that played music while their teacher instructed them. We hung out for a bit enjoyed some music and sun and then headed back on the T-bane.

We stopped quick at the local Rimi which is their version of a grocery store. We wanted to get bottled water and found some which we assume is just regular water since it said natural so no flavoring but, little did we know it was carbonted water which i found out when i opened it in our hotel room and sprayed it all over!! It is kind of funny I guess that is what heppens when u cant read the label. Tomorrow is Norways Constituion Day so, it all starts around 9 am with the parade and many more events to follow. Should be and interesting experience and can't wait to see how they celebrate.
